Rocky Point Park to get improved entrances
With a total project budget of $5.28 million, the City of Warwick is planning to update the park’s two entrances with new landscaping, curbs, and gates. This budget is a combination of a $4.4 million federal earmark secured by U.S. Sen. Jack Reed, along with $500,000 from the Rhode Island Infrastructure Bank and $380,000 from the state Department of Environmental Management. The Gateway Project will include a pedestrian plaza at the southern gateway and increased visibility at the northern gateway with enhanced circulation within and between park access points. Design elements were shown at the public meeting in January to elicit feedback on the current plans and updates to the design are expected to be completed by the end of this year.
